The History of Sport Played in China's Treaty Ports

This month's artifact is a copy of a document from the Martin Collection held at the World Rugby Museum at Twickenham. It dates from October 1938 and was a pre season information pack for members. It includes information about who the club officials were, how much the annual subs were and where to buy the club kit. It also made its members aware that if they happenned to be 'home' in England, they were entitled to apply for tickets to watch England play at Twickenham. An interesting document that gives remarkable insight into how the Shanghai Rugby Football Club was organised nearly eighty years ago.
